Jessica Steffans was born and raised in a small farming community in southern Colorado. She played some high school sports, but wasn’t really interested in sports or competition until her husband got her into rock climbing and sport bikes, which she raced for a full season. Jessica then became interested in Figure competition, and after her first show in 2005 knew she wanted to take it all the way to the top. After joining the Performance Ready Team in January, 2007 she progressed rapidly and placed in the top ten in four national shows. She won her height class and was runner-up in the overall at the North American Championships, which qualified her for her IFBB Pro card.
Steven V. Joyal, M.D. is Vice President of Scientific and Medical Affairs at the Life Extension Foundation, Inc., which is dedicated to extending and enhancing human life. Prior to joining Life Extension Dr. Joyal worked at Abbott Labs/ Knoll Pharmaceutical Company on Meridia®, one of only two FDA-approved long-term weight loss medications, and then at Bristol-Myers Squibb in global clinical cardiovascular-metabolic drug development including obesity, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia. He is an accomplished speaker has been published in both peer-reviewed scientific journals and health and wellness periodicals.
