Adela Garcia was born in Cabrera, Dominican Republic and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 1995 she competed in her first NPC fitness competition, placing 2nd, and went on to Nationals where she placed in the top 35 out of 75 competitors. This was the first national show and the IFBB was awarding 10 pro cards. After taking a couple of years off, Adela returned to competition in 1998 and in 1999 earned IFBB professional status by winning the Overall title at the NPC USA Fitness Championship. Since then, Adela has gone on to win three Fitness Olympia Titles, two Fitness International titles and is a GNC sponsored athlete. Her goal for 2008 is to win another Fitness Olympia title, tying Susie Curry’s record.
